NORTHBROOK, Ill. (June 1, 2009) - Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage has named veteran agent and manager Karen Arenson to manage its Winnetka North Office. Her responsibilities will include overseeing more than 75 real estate agents, as well as managing the daily activities and increasing the productivity of the office. Arenson also oversees the company's Wilmette office.

"Karen Arenson has proven herself a successful agent and managing broker as she took on the challenge of running the Wilmette office," said Patrick O'Rourke, regional vice president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. "Winnetka North is one of our strongest performing offices and we're confident Karen will help us continue to grow in the North shore."

As managing broker for the Wilmette office, Arenson was able to recruit new agents and increase the office's productivity and profitability. Previously, Arenson worked for five years at the Winnetka South branch office, and for six years in a Chicago boutique real estate firm.  Prior to coming to Coldwell Banker, Karen was a high school English teacher at Lake Forest High School and served as the Department Chair of Instructional Technology at New Trier High School.  At New Trier, Arenson developed and managed a strong department as well as all of the computer labs on both campuses.

Arenson resides in Glencoe with her husband and daughter.  She has a bachelor's degree in journalism and communications from the University of Michigan, and three master's degrees, including one in English Literature from Northwestern University.
