Personal Background
After getting her bachelor's degree from New York University, Anne moved to the City of Chicago with her husband and lived in the Lake View and Old Town neighborhoods. They relocated to the western suburbs about 16 years ago. Anne is active in the community and enjoys giving her time and talents to charitable organizations such as Mercy Home for Boys and Girls and the American Cancer Society.
Community Involvement
Anne enjoyed a career as a professional singer for many years in Chicago. She has sung on TV and the Radio Jingles for many products including McDonald's, Subway, State Farm Insurance, Cherry 7 up, and Hallmark Gold Crown Stores. She frequently donates her time and singing talent at fundraisers for the American Cancer Society and local Church functions.
Anne Thompson has also been very active in the PTA in Elmhurst. She and her husband deisigned and built the Haunted House for five years at Lincoln school and helped to raise record amounts of money for important programs as a result. One of her favorite yearly activities was helping the third grade class write and sing a jingle for their "Cookie Company" project.
At Bryan Middle school, Anne co-directed the talent show for two years and as a result discovered that the sound system was in need of a complete overhaul. She spear-headed the application and approval process as well as the fund-raising effort that raised more than $10,000. Students, parents and teachers now enjoy a wonderful new sound system in the auditorium.
