Education & Experience

Howard Mandel has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado College (Colorado Springs, CO). From 1980 to 1989, he perfected the art of buying low and selling high as a local commodity trader at the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. In 1989, he founded Transitions Bookplace & Cafe, which would become one of the most successful independent bookstores in the country, and the largest conscious living / new age bookstore ever. He built the bookstore and organic cafe with exceptional customer service as its foundation, and he's using that same mindset to build his outstanding career in real estate.
Howard is a Real Estate Broker/REALTOR® member of the National Association of REALTORS® and the North Shore - Barrington Association of REALTORS®.
He is a Certified Negotiation Specialist (CNS), has his ePro designation (the prestigious technology certification program of the National Association of REALTORS®), and is a Top Producer® Certified Professional Trainer for REALTORS® around the nation.

Howard has been married to his wife Gayle for over 22 years, and they have a 7 year old boy named Jackson. He grew up in Glencoe, Illinois and attended New Trier High School. Other than his time spent at Colorado College, he has lived in the Chicagoland area his entire life, and has bought and sold real estate for himself and others since 1989.
